To start, I'd like to tell you a little bit about me, my career, and my interests. Since the fall of 2012, I have served as the Director of Bands at Fowlerville High School in Fowlerville, Michigan. Previous to this appointment, I was the Director of Bands in Springport Schools (Springport, MI) for 7 years. In Fowlerville, I teach three concert bands, the high school choir program, as well a year-long study in the history of rock 'n roll. The band program includes the concert ensembles, a marching band, and an extra-curricular jazz band.
On an educational level, I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree from Michigan State University (GO GREEN!) in 2005. In the fall of 2011, I completed all requirements to fulfill a Master of Arts in Teaching and Curriculum degree at MSU. While attaining my graduate degree, I chose to focus my studies on educational technology and have found that my passion for the use of new technology tools is growing day-by-day. This website, in fact, initially served as my final portfolio for completion of my degree.
On a personal note, I live in East Lansing with my wife, our two sons and our beloved white labradoodle, Henry. My family and I love the greater Lansing area and can frequently be found at a local park or farmer's market. In my free time, I am an avid golfer, runner, cyclist, and HUGE soccer fan (Go Arsenal!). I also enjoy reading, especially the fiction of Michael Chabon, Phillip Pulman, and Salman Rushdie.
Thanks for visiting and I hope that you enjoy what you see.
